Instructions for submitting Hematopathology Specimens

In Situ Hybridization testing is designed to assist in the diagnosis of lymphoproliferative disorders. The primary test of the
ISH service assesses involvement of lymphomas associated viruses (e.g. Epstein Barr Virus) via in situ hybridization analysis.
For each case that requires In Situ Hybridization (ISH) analysis, the fellow/resident/pathologist in charge of the case
must complete an ISH Request Sheet and enter request into Softpath (code IEBER, IIKAP, IILAM). Please fill in the highlighted
information on the request sheet. Unstained tissue sections on charged slides are to be enclosed in an envelope, attached to
the Request Form, and submitted to the designated ISH Request Box in 10/2S247.
