Laboratory of Pathology - Staff

Requests for outside electives must be submitted and approved at least 1 month prior to start of the rotation (see Appendix A2). Forms are available through Susan Hostler. After completing an elective outside the NIH, please complete the evaluation form (see Appendix A3) available in Dr. Oberholtzer's office in Room 2N208. Your experiences will help other residents in choosing their electives. You may also review the forms on file before selecting an elective.

The Laboratory of Pathology will provide financial assistance for one rotation outside the Washington, DC metropolitan area for each resident in the second and third year of training. The Arthur Purdy Stout Society also provides stipends to support off-site electives. See Dr. Oberholtzer for application materials and further information. Application deadlines are generally June 15, prior to the following academic year. An outside pathology course may be taken in lieu of an outside elective month.
