The CCR ORN competencies program has been developed for the Research Nurse Specialist based on the Oncology Nursing Society's Oncology Clinical Trials Nurse Competencies. Behavioral indicators have been developed specifc to CCR operations. The ORN Team Leads will be responsible for validating their staff's competency with support from the Nurse Educator.
There are 9 competency categories. Under each category, there is a Facilitator's Guide and a competency validation sign-off tool. The Facilitator's Guide is a refernce for both the reserach nurse and the validator.
