The Laboratory of Pathology's clinical sections are accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). LP is certified pursuant to the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and adheres to any federal, state or local laws that have jurisdiction on LP’s functions. LP adheres to statutes that govern the Department of Health and Human Services, the National Institutes of Health, and the Clinical Center.
